The law n. 3056, as a prorogation of the law n. 2548, was approved to protect from demolition more than 140.000 buildings raised prior to 1941. A huge heritage built before WWII in the classical French or Italian style, with high quality materials, as opposed to the later tendencies of collective affordable housing. At less than one month from the exipiration date, on December 31, 2010, the law n. 3056 has not been yet renewed, despite the efforts of a number of organizations engaged in the protection of the historical heritage, such as 'Basta de demoler' NGO.
